These terms govern your use of Map Diary, developed by Can Bi. By using the app, you agree to these terms.
Map Diary grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on any Apple device you own or control, subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
All data you create in Map Diary (locations, photos, notes, lists) belongs to you. We do not access, collect, or store your data. It exists only on your device.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you are responsible for your own data. Map Diary is not responsible for data loss caused by:
We recommend using your device's built-in backup features (e.g., iCloud device backup) to protect your data. Map Diary also offers an optional .mapdiary backup export (Pro feature) that you can save to Files or share — this remains on your device or storage you choose; we do not host backup files.
Maps, place search, address lookup, and route directions in Map Diary are provided by Apple through Apple Maps. Your use of those features is also subject to Apple's terms and its privacy policy. See the Apple Maps Services section of our Privacy Policy for what is sent and when.
Distances, travel times, and routes are estimates for planning, not navigation instructions. Without an internet connection, Map Diary falls back to straight-line estimates, which ignore roads, paths, terrain, and one-way restrictions. Always follow real-world signage, traffic laws, and your own judgement. Do not rely on Map Diary for emergency routing, and do not operate a vehicle while interacting with the app.
Map Diary enables you to save locations, photos, and notes. You retain full ownership of all content you create. We do not access, view, or claim any rights to your journal entries.
Optional Pro unlocks and tip-jar purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Tips unlock no features.
